What is a Knot in the Muscle.

Muscle Knots are also known as Trigger Points. These points are found all over your body and can become tender and sore on palpation. The tissue that connects your muscles to bone is called fascia. They can occur from muscles to being tense or spasm involuntarily and bunch up.

Pain can occur in fascia or skeletal muscle. Feeling deep tissue pain, when you touch it, feels like a bump, taunt rubber band, that is a knot your feeling

Muscle knots can occur in all muscles. Most people feel the knots in mainly the major muscle groups, in Neck, Upper Traps, Gluteal muscles.

How to treat a knot?

You can use a Foam roller, Spikey ball, Tennis ball and stretch, can help ease the tension. but the most effective way to help ease the tension is coming in and having a massage.


What is fascia?

Is a band or a sheet of connective tissue, primarily collagen,  beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses  and separates muscles and other organs.

Fascia is a fibrous connective tissue, that is present throughout the entire body, not just the muscles.


What are tendons ?

Tendons attach muscle to bone. This is mainly when you strain the tendon.


What are ligaments ?

Ligaments attach bone to bone. Mainly when you sprain your ankle.
